Peyton Manning thrilled over Caitlin Clark playing in Indiana with Fever
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

NFL legend knows a thing or two about becoming a star in Indiana during his time playing for the Indianapolis Colts. That’s why he was glad when WNBA star Caitlin Clark moved there as a start to her journey as a professional basketball player.

Clark first made a name for herself in college by becoming one of the most talented amateur scorers out there. By the end of her four-year stint with the Iowa Hawkeyes, the talented point guard broke Pete Maravich’s old record to become the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer.

Unfortunately, Clark didn’t get the perfect conclusion to her college career when the Iowa Hawkeyes fell to a undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks team led by Kamilla Cardoso. Shortly after, she was selected first by the Indiana Fever in the recent WNBA Draft this year.

Even though she hasn’t played her first official game as a pro, Clark has been turning heads for the past few months. Apart from making college basketball history, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star has signed lucrative deals with Nike and Panini, making her one of the most well-known brands in sports these days.

NFL Legend Peyton Manning Reacts To WNBA star Caitlin Clark’s Move to Indiana

After news came out that Clark moved to Indianapolis, local NFL legend Peyton Manning congratulated the Fever rookie for making that decision. In a video shared by the Indiana Fever’s official account on X:

Manning first entered the NFL as the Indianapolis Colts number one pick in the 1998 Draft. He spent 13 years playing for the franchise and is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time after becoming a two-time Super Bowl champion.

Clark is set to make her WNBA debut on May 14 against the Dallas Wings. For sure, there’ll be a lot of people interested to see whether the Fever rookie can successfully make the jump from being a star in college.
